Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Tangier and local discovery

Your adventure begins in Tangier, a fascinating city perched at the crossroads of the Mediterranean and the Atlantic. Upon arrival, you will receive a warm welcome and be transferred to your accommodation. The day invites you to immerse yourself in the unique atmosphere of Tangier, where European and Moroccan influences blend harmoniously. You will visit the kasbah, an ancient fortified district offering breathtaking views of the sea and boasting a rich and varied architecture. Then, you will stroll through the winding alleys of the medina, bustling with traditional shops and cafes that capture the local spirit. Day 02: Tangier – Chefchaouen, Morocco's blue pearl

After an invigorating breakfast, you will take the scenic route through the green mountains of the Rif. Along the way, you will make stops to admire the lush landscapes and quaint villages that dot your route. Your destination is Chefchaouen, nicknamed the "Blue Pearl" of Morocco, famous for its lavender-blue walls and Andalusian-inspired architecture. The city exudes a peaceful atmosphere, ideal for photography enthusiasts, artists, or simply travelers in search of tranquility. You will spend the afternoon strolling through its narrow streets, discovering its craft shops where carpets, pottery, and jewelry are made, or enjoying a mint tea in the main square, surrounded by mountains. Time seems to stand still in this charming city, where authenticity and natural beauty intertwine.

Day 03: Drive to Fez via Volubilis and Meknes

This day will be dedicated to history. Your first stop will be the Roman archaeological site of Volubilis, an impressive testament to the Roman presence in North Africa. Day 04: Full cultural day in Fez

This day trip will immerse you in the cultural and historical richness of Fez, one of the oldest Islamic cities in the world. Guided by a local expert, you will begin your visit in Fez el Bali, the ancient medina, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A veritable labyrinth of narrow streets, this medina is an open-air museum where traditional crafts and everyday life intertwine. You will discover Al-Qarawiyyin University, the oldest educational institution in the world still in operation, and explore the colorful souks where every trade has its place: potters, weavers, shoemakers, etc. A stop at the Chouara tanneries district will offer you a fascinating spectacle, where artisans work leather using ancestral methods. Once in Merzouga, you will swap your vehicle for camels for an unforgettable ride through the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. Day 06: Experience in the Sahara Desert

After breakfast, set off on a 4x4 excursion to discover the arid and fascinating landscapes surrounding Merzouga. Visit the village of Khamlia, known for its community of Gnawa musicians, whose ancestral and spiritual rhythms originate from sub-Saharan Africa. You will also meet semi-nomadic families who continue to live a traditional lifestyle in their tents. The next stop will take you to Rissani, a desert market renowned for its spices, dates, and crafts. At the end of the afternoon, return to camp with the opportunity to enjoy activities such as sandboarding or sunset walks, before a convivial evening around the fire.

Day 07: Merzouga – Dadès Gorges via the Todra Canyon

After breakfast, you will leave the desert and head west towards the mountains and green valleys. The road will take you through Rissani and then Erfoud, a town famous for its geological riches and fossils that will fascinate natural science enthusiasts. You will travel through landscapes dotted with palm trees and kasbahs to the impressive Todra Gorge, a spectacular canyon with cliffs reaching nearly 300 meters in height. Enjoy a walk in this magnificent natural site, which is very popular with climbers and hikers. You will then continue to the Dades Valley, renowned for its winding roads and unique rock formations, before spending the night in an authentic setting, in a guest house or a charming hotel in a traditional kasbah.

Day 08: From the Dades Gorges to Marrakech via Ait Benhaddou

After a hearty breakfast, you will leave the Dadès Valley, nicknamed the "valley of a thousand kasbahs" due to the multitude of ancient adobe fortresses that dot the landscape. You will pass through Kalaat M'Gouna, a town renowned for its rose water production and flower festivals. Next, you will reach Ouarzazate, known as the gateway to the desert and the capital of Moroccan cinema. If time allows, you will visit the film studios or a museum dedicated to this world. Then, you will explore the ksar of Aït Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, famous for its rammed earth walls and its role as a backdrop in international films such as Gladiator and Game of Thrones. After this historical and cultural immersion, you will cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka Pass, one of the highest in North Africa.
