Itinerary

Day 01: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Aït Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Valley

Early departure from Marrakech heading southeast through the High Atlas Mountains. You will cross the Tizi n'Tichka Pass (2,260 m), one of the highest road passes in North Africa, enjoying panoramic views of the mountains and traditional Berber villages.

 

En route, visit the famous ksar of Aït Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its adobe houses and as the location for many films.

Lunch on your own in the surrounding area.

Continue the journey to Ouarzazate, known as the “gateway to the desert,” with a photo stop in front of the Taourirt Kasbah.

Continue through the Valley of Roses and the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs to the Dadès Valley. You will then continue through the Valley of Roses and the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs to the Dades Valley.

Check in at the hotel in the valley.

Day 02: Dades Valley – Todgha Gorges – Merzouga – Sahara Desert

After breakfast, on the second day of our 8-day tour of Morocco from Marrakech to Casablanca, we will depart for the spectacular Todgha Gorges, a series of steep limestone canyons popular with hikers and climbers. Walk through the gorges.

Continue to Merzouga, passing through Erfoud, famous for its fossils. Upon arrival at the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, you will be welcomed by camel drivers for a camel ride through the dunes at sunset.

 

You will return to your desert camp, where a traditional dinner will be served around the fire, accompanied by Berber music.

Overnight stay in a comfortable or luxury desert camp.

Day 03: Merzouga – Ziz – Middle Atlas – Ifrane – Fez

Early wake-up to watch the sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast at the camp, return to Merzouga by camel or 4x4.

Departure north along the Ziz Valley with its spectacular palm groves. Pass through Errachidia and Midelt, nestled between the mountains of the Middle Atlas. Lunch on your own along the way.

 

Continue via Azrou and its cedar forests, home to Barbary macaques, then pass through the charming town of Ifrane,

known as “Little Switzerland” for its alpine architecture and clean streets.

Arrival in Fez at the end of the day.

Day 04: Fez – Full day guided tour

After breakfast,

full day tour of the imperial city of Fez with a local guide. You will explore the medieval medina of Fez el-Bali, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit the Bou Inania Madrasa, the Karaouiyine Mosque (one of the oldest universities in the world), the tanneries, and the artisans' quarter.

 

Discover the royal palace (exterior view), the Jewish quarter (Mellah) and the more modern medina,

 Fez el-Jdid.

Free time to stroll through the souks.

Overnight in Fez.

Day 05: Fez – Chefchaouen

On the fifth day of this 8-day tour of Morocco from Marrakech to Casablanca, we head north to Chefchaouen, nestled in the Rif Mountains. Known for its blue streets and peaceful atmosphere, Chefchaouen is an ideal city to relax in. Upon arrival, check into your accommodation and then enjoy free time to explore the medina, Outa el-Hammam Square, the kasbah, and climb up to the Spanish Mosque for a panoramic view of the city.

Overnight in Chefchaouen.

Day 06: Tangier – Asilah

Depart after breakfast for Tangier, a city at the crossroads between Europe and Africa. Depending on the schedule, enjoy a quick visit to Cape Spartel, where the Atlantic meets the Mediterranean, and the Caves of Hercules (if open).

 

Continue to the charming coastal town of Asilah, known for its Portuguese ramparts and narrow streets decorated with colorful murals. Free time to stroll along the beach or in the medina.

Day 07: Asilah – Rabat (Morocco's Capital City)

After breakfast, drive to Rabat, Morocco's administrative capital. Visit the city's main sites: the unfinished Hassan Tower, the Mohammed V Mausoleum, the Kasbah of the Udayas, and the Royal Palace (exterior view).

 

In the afternoon, continue to Casablanca, the country's economic capital.

Overnight in Casablanca.

Day 08: Rabat – Casablanca (Hassan II Mosque)

Depending on your flight schedule or itinerary, you may visit the majestic Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest in the world, built partly over the ocean.
